As someone who has spent 20+ years working on his feet, I have come to appreciate the importance of good shoes and socks.  Furthermore, I've grown especially fond of wool socks which I find to be more durable, much warmer in the winter and better for keeping my feet dry and happy.  Here is a great summary of the benefits of wool socks.

With all of this in mind I was thrilled when I came across a Farm to Feet sock display at the Great Outdoor Provision Co. store in Winston-Salem.  I was not familiar with the Farm to Feet brand but the name really caught my attention.  I pulled up the company website and was so impressed with their 100% American business model.

Farm to Feet makes a variety of adventure, sport and everyday socks using merino wool, Nylon and Spandex.  All of these ingredients are made and / or raised in the United States.  In addition, the merino wool that comes from 100% US sheep herds is processed in Jamestown, SC; spun in Raeford, NC and knitted in Mt. Airy, NC.  Finally, Foot to Feet has all of its product packaging made in Concord, NC and its point of sale displays are made in Greensboro, NC.

To top it all off, Farm to Feet is very active in working with charities such as Soles4Souls and sponsor local events such as the Girls on Track Adventure Race.

All in all, Farm to Feet is an amazing company that is supporting local farmers, creating local jobs and giving back to the local community.  I can also say from experience, they make damn good socks!

Be Well,

Wayne
